Hometown Heart Beat releases!

I love book birthdays!

Hometown Heart Beat is set in the Harvest Ranch Romance Series, a multi-author sweet small-town series. All books can be read as standalones but contain fun appearances by characters from other stories.

I love stories with humor, so like my other books, this one will hopefully have you laughing out loud. One Goodreads reviewer says:

"You know how when you watch a Hallmark movie for the first time? Your eyes fill with stars, your heart fills with hope, and you can't help but laugh and wish the couple would get together already, but at the same time you don't cause you don't want the movie to end?

"That is EXACTLY how I felt about Hometown Heartbeat."

💖

Fun fact about this book: Main character Veronica "Ronnie" Williams works as a reporter at the tiny Harvest Ranch Times--a big change from her past life as a foreign correspondent.
Like Ronnie, I studied journalism in college, and have always admired reporters who strive for honesty and integrity in their stories.

The woman behind the curtain

Hey there, friends!

When I'm not writing sweet romance, I write a blog and newspaper column (yes, an actual newspaper, the kind you can pick up and turn pages). If you'd like to read a little more about me, click on over to find out who Amberlee Day is when she (me) isn't swooning over romantic heroes.

There's also a little insight there about the story behind my latest book, The Country Gentleman.

Lemon balm, or stinging nettle?

What's your guess? If you said lemon balm, you're correct. This is a small sample of what's growing right off my back deck. It smells just like fresh lemons, delicious!

What are your favorite scents? Comment and let me know. Besides lemon, my favorites are vanilla and pumpkin. Nothing flowery for me. I prefer smells that make me think something yummy's cooking.

Here's a challenge for you: Find something that smells wonderful and keep it close enough to enjoy along with your latest read. That is called taking a mental vacation, right there.

Happy reading! And smelling. 😏

What I Did For My Summer Vacation

I'll give you a hint: what I did not do for my summer vacation is clean my house. It's a disaster. When someone mentioned that they almost stopped at my house unannounced a few days ago to say hi, I panicked. Even on a good day my housekeeping wouldn't pass the white glove test, or any other color, including camouflage. Definitely not prepared for unexpected visitors.

What I did do this summer is play with my family, and write. Sometimes, I did them both at the same time. It was a great time, and I accomplished a lot, so I guess I'm living the dream.

(Readjusts rose-colored glasses.)

In a few weeks I'll have an announcement for a new book arrival! I'm so excited to share it. So excited, in fact, that I'll be doing a drawing for an awesome prize. More on that soon.

Meanwhile, here's the view from my happy place, watching the Pacific Ocean come and go while I write romantic stories. Good times. Those little dots on the beach are cars, by the way. It's a lofty happy place.
